2007 marks the 100th year of Tata Steel. To honour this landmark event, the Centenary Celebrations began from 26th August 2007- as the Company was registered on this day a hundred years ago. Celebrations which were flagged off in Jamshedpur included the release of the Tata Steel Centenary Book, a new Corporate Anthem and a Hindustani Classical ‘Raga’ on ‘Harmony’ by Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan.

Besides this, a special centenary diary and a calendar depicting some of the most defining moments in the history of Tata Steel have been launched as well. Tata Steel further plans to conduct various competitons, like quiz and a painting competition during the year.

A microsite designed and developed especially for this occasion has been unveiled. This site highlights special features of the company- its history, its past leaders, it technical evolution, etc. It allows interaction between interested stakeholders and the company and also disseminates information about events and happenings on the Centenary Celebrations. The print and electronic media (mainly internet) would be used as a vehicle for creating awareness for the various.

All companies within the Tata Steel family across all locations, both at home and abroad, will be encouraged to participate in the celebrations.
