Mr N K Misra has done his Bachelor of Science from Luckhnow University in 1976 and further completed his Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Moreover, he completed the General Management Programme from CEDEP/INSEAD,France.
Mr Misra joined Tata Steel in 1981 as an Accounts Officer at collieries Division and was further deputed to its associate Company ‘Kumardhubi Metal Casting and Engineering Limited’ in 1984. He ultimately rose to occupy a key position of CFO. He made a significant contribution in turning around the company during his tenure.
In 1993, he reverted to his parent organisation and was appointed as the Head of Finance and Accounts at Bearings Profit Centre and Tubes Profit Centre respectively for 7 years.
Thereafter, he moved to Strategic Finance as Head New Business Finance and was subsequently appointed as Chief Strategic Finance. He has also served the company as
Chief Strategy, where he looked after Portfolio Management (associate companies), Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments and provided strategic direction to the company.
Currently, he is re-designated as Group Head (Mergers & Acquisitions) to plan and execute Tata Steel Group Mergers & Acquisitions, JVs, New Businesses and Divestments.
Mr Misra, presently holds the position of a Chairman in Steel City Press Limited, Director, Tayo Rolls Limited, Director, Tata Bluescope Steel Limited, Director, Tata Ryerson Limited, Director, Jamshedpur Injection Powder Limited, Director, Tata NYK Shipping Pte Ltd, Singapore, Director, Riversdale Energy Mauritius Limited, Mozambique and Director of Tata Steel Cote d’ Ivoire S. A, Ivory Coast.
Mr Misra also has been an active member as a visiting faculty at the Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur, India (a renowned Management Business School) for the last three years. |
